Horrible experience. Constant monthly rent increases.
I enjoyed storing my things here for the past 3 years. It was always easy to access my things because the hours are great and its literally just a few steps away from where I parked my car. Its well lit indoors and there was a convenient elevator close to my spot. The facility is very attractive and new, but I feel like security could be upped a bit? At one point I had a regular lock on my box, and I came to find parts of it were broken as if someone tried to break it using some tools. But I immediately notified the office, and I replaced my lock to one that looks more fancy and there were no issues since then.
The staff at safe storage on Cedar in Berkeley, CA are helpful & courteous. Ms. Brown help me setup of my storage unit. The Manager, "Mr. Nice Guy", is what I believe they call him was just as nice and went as far as giving me a ride after I took a cab with my belongings to the facility. "A+" all the way for them.
Valentine and the staff were wonderful. They made our experience totally smooth and they were very friendly. We found the location very convenient and supportive to our needs. Steve and Marilyn
I reserved a storage unit online and got a call within 5 minutes. I spoke to a very nice woman on the phone by the name of Ricki (I believe) and she just called to confirm all the information. I thought they would ask for a credit card or payment of some sort, but they asked for nothing! This was 4 days prior to move-in and they actually held it without any payment!! Keep in mind I got the last small unit and it's move out season for almost all UC Berkeley students. That blew my mind! It was quick, easy, and reliable. Then come move-in day, we were promptly taken care of by Valehntine! He laid out all the information and made it easy to understand. He was very friendly, polite and well-spoken. He definitely knows his stuff very well! He showed us the unit, broke down the costs, and explained all the other contract shenanigans. Walked us back to our unit to show us how to access the facility, use our lock, operate all the machinery, and close up our unit. Everything went smoothly from thereon out. Had our unit on the 3rd floor, but didn't have to use the stairs because there is an elevator AND they provide a dolly/cart to lug the bulkier items to your unit. The storage facility was also very clean! No trash where we were. I would definitely recommend.
